Avoid Side Effects of Over-the-Counter Pain Relievers
If you have the impression over-the-counter (OTC) painkiller side effects are nothing to be concerned about, think again! Nonprescription pain medications are some of the most widely used drugs in the world. Over-the-counter (OTC) pain relief drugs are often contain either:
- Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) found in aspirin, ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Aleve, Nuprin, and other medications.
- Acetaminophen found in Tylenol, Panadol, and other generic pain relievers.
Over-The-Counter (OTC) Pain Drug Health Dangers
Worrying and dangerous side effects of these common drugs are well documented. Reacting to growing public concern, the USA FDA is tightening warning label requirements and demanding clarification of maximum doses. The FDA is even considering banning certain acetaminophen containing prescription drugs, as it’s an active ingredient in several over-the-counter pain relievers. Uneducated consumers could easily overdose by accidentally combining several medications.
We have a 5-page Information Packet (temporarily unavailable): Over-the-counter Pain Drugs: Health Dangers on the common, rare, sometimes dangerous and severe side effects of aspirin, ibuprofen, and acetaminophen. If you use these drugs as most people do, this information will help you to know if you or your family members might be having a drug reaction to be concerned about…and to get necessary help fast!
We also discuss three pure steam-distilled essential oils that we and others use to manage pain (temporarily unavailable):
- GERMAN CHAMOMILE
- LAVENDER
- and PEPPERMINT
Any of these pure, stem-distilled essential oils are much safer to use than drugs and will give good relief for many common pain situations. These are the same oils our family has been using since 1999 for our First Aid needs. We’ve included links in the OTC PDF for purchasing them (sorry, temporarily unavailable…. Coming back soon!).
