Essential Oils Enhance Your Dental Floss Routine

A drop or two of a therapeutic-grade essential oil or oil blend in a glass of water as a gargle, is much more pleasant and healthful than alcohol-laced commercial mouthwashes.

Most of us could benefit from being more consistent with a daily dental floss routine. If your gums are already a bit tender or bleed when you floss, adding pure therapeutic-quality essential oils to your brushing / flossing ritual may improve the health of your gums quite rapidly. It has for others.

Young Living Essential Oils uses Thieves® to support Oral Health

A drop or two of a therapeutic-grade essential oil or oil blend in a glass of water as a gargle, is much more pleasant and healthful than alcohol-laced commercial mouthwashes. Thieves® from Young Living Essential Oils is superb for that purpose. (Using it this way also helps bolster your immune system).

Melrose, superb for preventing infections, is an excellent addition to your first aid kit.

The Young Living toothpastes, which all contain Thieves®, are good products. But using the 100% Thieves® essential oil blend directly for daily flossing is too strong for me. If it happens to touch my lips, it burns a bit. It’s not injuring, just SPICY HOT, and uncomfortable.

After my recent dental check-up and cleaning, I’m inspired to improve my oral health routine. Decided to use Young Living Essential Oils’ Melrose® blend rather than Thieves®. Melrose® is my go-to essential oil for ANY infection or as an immune system booster. It doesn’t sting. Melrose can be put right on a scratch or scrape or cut and will help an injury heal faster or bolster your immune systerm to clear up any infection that may have started.

  1. What oil is good for a bladder infection which I’ve had for a week. I get hot and cold, weak. Kind of comes and goes. Never had this before.

    • Hi Cathy ~ Have you seen your doctor? Do you know what’s causing the infection? How you got it? Could it be related to candida or something else?

Do you use Young Living Essential Oils? If so, I’d recommend putting several drops of YLO’s blend ‘Melrose’ over your kidney area (on your back above your waist on either side of your spine), morning and night. Another effective anti-infectious YLO blend is Thieves. It’s a bit ‘hotter’ than Melrose, so is best applied to the soles of your feet. Again, twice a day (morning and evening), just enough (3-6 drops per foot) to spread over the soles of your feet, not on top.

Also, read the nutrition suggestions in this article on getting rid of a vaginal infection. Drinks LOTS of fresh filtered water. LOTS. Hope you feel better soon!
