My grown son and I began a baking project late in the evening. We were making gingerbread cookies as holiday gifts for a family with three young kids (5, 3, 1 years-old) that he was going to visit the next day ~ New Year’s. I was quite tired after finishing decorating one of the kids’ cookie in the wee hours. My son and hubby had gone to bed already.
After cleaning up my baking project and getting ready for bed, noticed my tummy was slightly upset…not exactly nauseous, but definitely NOT comfortable. This is a rare symptom for me, so I thought I might be getting sick with a flu or something? A friend was going to visit for the New Year’s weekend. She was due to arrive the next day and I definitely didn’t want to be sick!
Home Remedies for an Occasional Upset Stomach
My home care options were to have a cup of hot ginger or mint tea or to use Young Living’s Di-Tone (now Di-Gize®) essential oils blend to soothe my tummy. I’m not particularly fond of the Di-Tone blend smell. Tend to avoid using it. Everyone’s aromatic preferences are different, so don’t let this deter YOU from having it in your medicine cabinet! But who ever claimed medicines and home folk remedies always must smell or taste good?!! The question is: Are home health remedies EFFECTIVE??
Di-Tone certainly is!
I put 1 drop of Di-Tone in a quarter cup of Trader Joe’s (tasty) organic soymilk. Didn’t want to use whole cow’s milk since dairy products can be hard for an upset stomach to digest. Swigged it down. Wasn’t bad at all.
Then I put 3 drops of Di-Tone on the bottoms of my feet across the instep, a Vita-Flex / Acuppressure area which correlates to the gut and intestines. Within 15 minutes or so, the discomfort was easing. I fell asleep. Woke up New Year’s Day feeling totally fine ready to enjoy my friend’s visit.
DiGize® Therapeutic Essential Oil Ingredients: Tarragon (Artemisia dracunculus), Ginger (Zingiber officinale), Peppermint (Mentha piperita), Juniper (Juniperus osteosperma and J. scopulorum), Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare), Lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus), Anise (Pimpinella anisum), and Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin).
